The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the position of Communications Supervisor.  Starting salary at $25.17 per hour.

Minimum Requirements:
• 24 months of public safety dispatching experience.
• Current CTO certification and serve as an active CTO.
• Ability to work any and all shifts as required.

Position Requirements:
• Knowledge of practices and procedures of emergency dispatch.
• Ability to supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Must be available to attend a weekly staff meeting.

Examples of Duties:
• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff involved in emergency dispatch.
• Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for dispatch services; implement policies and procedures.
• Evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities.
• Participate in the selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.
• Provide strong leadership and motivation through effective employee performance management techniques.
• Handle scheduling of members; work with members on attendance and leave requests and issues.
