Deputies Searching For Man Who Impersonated LEO

Deputies are investigating a report of a man who impersonated a law enforcement officer in Golden Gate Estates.

A Collier County resident reported that she was stopped by a man while she was walking in the area of Immokalee Road and Rabbit Run Drive around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4.

The man identified himself as a law enforcement officer and indicated he wanted to search her. The man threatened to arrest her if she did not cooperate.

After he frisked her, he got back in his vehicle and drove off toward Immokalee.

Detectives said the suspect is described as a bald white man in his mid-50s. He is about 6 feet tall with a large build and blue eyes. He was wearing green pants with multiple pockets, a black shirt and black boots.

He was driving a newer model black Dodge Charger with no markings.

Detectives have released a composite sketch of the suspect. They also released a photo of a vehicle similar to the one the suspect was driving.
