CCSO: Golden Gate Sexual Battery Suspect In Custody
Collier County Sheriff's Office
A man suspected of committing three separate sexual batteries in Golden Gate over the past year is in Collier County Sheriff’s Office custody, Criminal Investigations Division Captain Rod Bishop said Tuesday.
“We have a suspect in custody on unrelated charges and we are currently working on evidence to charge him with the sexual batteries in Golden Gate,” Special Crimes Bureau Lt. Jason Wrobleski said.
The suspect is being held in the Naples Jail Center. CCSO is not identifying him or his current charges because he has not been formally charged in connection with the sexual batteries.
The most recent sexual battery occurred July 23 at a residence north of Golden Gate Parkway and east of Santa Barbara Boulevard. Detectives say the suspect entered a home and attacked the victim while she slept.
Detectives believe the suspect also committed a June 18 sexual battery that occurred on the north side of Golden Gate Parkway and an Aug. 1, 2016, sexual battery that occurred in the area of 19th Place Southwest.
Both of those sexual batteries occurred at the victim’s residence during the early morning hours and the suspect used violence.
This continues to be an active and ongoing investigation, and we will continue to update the community as the investigation evolves.
