A 34-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been charged in connection with the armed robberies of two area convenience stores, including one Thursday night in Golden Gate.
Jeremiah Jesus Vasquez, 2995 Francis Avenue, East Naples, and Crystal Pages, 3449 Winifred Row Lane, Golden Gate, were arrested early Friday morning and booked into the Collier County Jail.
One suspect remains at large and detectives are trying to determine if Vasquez and Pages are linked to other crimes.
Since June 10, there have been four armed robberies at convenience stores in Collier County. Two were in East Naples and two were in Golden Gate.
Reports gave this account of the events leading to Friday’s arrests:
Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at Rose’s Food Mart, 1808 Santa Barbara Blvd. around 9 p.m. Deputies who were in the area arrived on scene in a matter of seconds. They found a store employee bleeding from the head. The employee said two men armed with handguns entered the store. One of them struck him in the head with a gun.
The men then demanded money. The employee complied and the suspects ran out of the store, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Deputies, including K-9 and Aviation units, searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
Through their investigation into the robberies, detectives developed possible suspects. They also received information via Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers that Vasquez and Pages were involved in the June 18 armed holdup at 7 Food Mart, 2332 Santa Barbara Blvd. Two men armed with a handgun and a rifle entered the store shortly before 10 p.m. They took money from the cash register and a safe, and ran out of the store. Vasquez was identified as one of the robbers and Pages was identified as the getaway driver. The second robber suspect remains at large.
Detectives located Vasquez during a traffic stop of a blue Mercedes in the driveway of his residence. Pages was located at her residence. Both were taken into custody.
Vasquez and Pages are each charged with armed robbery and grand theft in connection with June 18 robbery of the 7 Food Mart. Pages admitted her involvement, according to arrest reports.
Vasquez also faces charges of armed robbery, grand theft and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection with the Rose’s Food Mart robbery Thursday night.
Detectives are investigating whether Vasquez and Pages are linked to a June 10 armed robbery at Rose Supermarket, 6026 Radio Road in East Naples and a June 12 armed robbery at K Square Food Mart, 11466 U.S. 41 E., East Naples.
