The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the following vacancies:

The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the position of Secretary III.  Position available in the Finance Department. Starting salary at $24.32 per hour.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Good attendance record.
  • Minimum OPAC score of 80%.
  • Minimum Wonderlic score of 20.
  • Ability to type 50 correct wpm.

Position Requirements:

Knowledge of:

  • Modern office methods, procedures and equipment, including word processing, spreadsheet, database and network. 
  • Agency policies, procedures, rules and regulations, administrative requirements. 

Ability to:

  • Understand the organization and operations of the Agency and of outside agencies as necessary to assume assigned responsibilities. 
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Exercise initiative and sound judgement.
  • Interpret and apply Division policies, procedures and rules.
  • Must have good organization skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Examples of Duties:

  • Perform general clerical duties including typing, operating word processor and computers, filing, checking and recording information on records, and processing routine requests for information. 
  • Ensure that work is handled on a priority basis and completed in a timely manner. 
  • Act as a receptionist; answer the telephone, give information on agency policies and procedures as required. 
  • Type a variety of written material from rough draft or verbal instructions. 
  • Compile information and data for statistical reports. 
  • Compose routine correspondence independently.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
