The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the following vacancies:

A $1,500 sign on bonus will be awarded to all successful applicants appointed to full-time non-certified positions. A $3,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to all successful applicants appointed to full-time certified positions. Restrictions apply, please contact Human Resources for full details.

Administrative Call Taker

The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the position of Administrative Call Taker.  Starting salary at $ 23.20 per hour.

Minimum requirements:

  • Must be able to type 30 correct wpm. 
  • Minimum Wonderlic score of 18.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule
  • Minimum CritiCall score of 70/2500

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work shifts (days, nights, evenings, weekends)
  • Ability to read and understand maps, site plans, and addressing systems
  • Knowledge of computer applications including word-processing and database management software
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with requirements of job
  • Organizational and deductive skills

 

Examples of duties:

  • Route non-emergency calls to proper authority
  • Receive and enter complaints into CAD system
  • Prioritize calls
  • Operate NCIC/FCIC computer and CJIS/CJNET terminal
  • Maintain communication logs
  • Instruct callers in the use of AED and in the use of CPR
  • Process wrecker requests and maintain wrecker files
  • Assist law enforcement officers and others with information necessary to perform calls for service
  • Answers requests for information and complaints from the general public
  • Process requests for information through the NCIC/FCIC teletype systems
