The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the following vacancies:

A $1,500 sign on bonus will be awarded to all successful applicants appointed to full-time non-certified positions. A $3,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to all successful applicants appointed to full-time certified positions. Restrictions apply, please contact Human Resources for full details.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the position of Buyer I. Starting salary at $26.74 per hour.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to type 30 correct words per minute.
  • Minimum Wonderlic score of 20, and OPAC of 80%.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with accounting, procurement, and inventory practices and procedures. 
  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of two years as a purchasing agent/clerk will be considered in lieu of Associates Degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Outlook, Database & Network.
  • Skill in the use of a calculator.
  • Ability to speak in front of a group (public speaking).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects. 
  • Capable of interpreting and applying agency policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 
  • Must maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Must be able to work 0800-1700 with occasional evening hours.

Examples of Duties:

  • Process purchase orders.
  • Conduct research for the procurement of equipment, parts and supplies. 
  • Order and issue office and specialty uniform supply items.
  • Maintain vendor files and supplier catalogs.
  • Issue bid requests and select successful bidders.
  • Assist with pre-conference vendor meetings and vendor presentation meetings.
