Juvenile Civil Citation Program

The Juvenile Civil Citation Program is a pre-arrest diversion program that empowers deputies to issue a civil citation to juveniles in lieu of an arrest and prosecution for misdemeanor offenses, authorized by Florida Statute 985.12

Children will be required to complete community service hours to successfully complete the program.

Community service projects are held on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (unless noted otherwise). Children should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers as most projects are outside. No open-toe shoes, sandals, short shorts, tank or spaghetti strap tops or mid-drift shirts are permitted. Youth maybe sent home for clothing violations.

The coordinator must be contacted within 24 hours after receiving the Civil Citation to begin serving their sanctioned community hours.

For questions, contact the Civil Citation Coordinator, Cpl. S. Doria at 239-252-0076, 239-253-0197 or Youth Relations at        239-252-0144.
