Out-of-State Certified Officers

If you are a Law Enforcement or Corrections officer who are certified in another state or through the Federal Government and have at least one year of full-time experience, no more than 8 years ago you may qualify for the Equivalency of Training Academy.

The CCSO will pay academy costs, hotel fees, per diem and your salary while you attend the Academy.

Q. Does your agency hire out-of-state officers?

A. We value any experienced officer.  The State of Florida will give you an exemption from the Basic Recruit Training for out-of-state, federal of military police officers who qualify.

Q. How can I get certified in Florida?

A. The State of Florida offers a 2 week (92 hour) Equivalency of Training Academy for corrections and law enforcement officers who are certified in another state or through the Federal Government and have at least one year of full-time experience no more than 8 years prior.
