2nd Annual Donut Ride To Celebrate Bicycle Safety Month

LOCATION: Fit & Fuel Café, 819 Vanderbilt Beach Road, North Naples
SUMMARY: The Collier County Sheriff’s Office and Naples Velo will host the 2nd Annual Donut Ride in celebration of Bicycle Safety Month on Saturday, May 20 in North Naples.
The CCSO and Naples Velo teamed up to raise awareness of cycling safety throughout the month of May. This event will help remind both motorists and bicyclists of the rules of sharing the road.
Cyclists of all skill levels are invited to join in one of many scheduled group rides, a bicycle safety presentation by CCSO representatives and a bicycle maintenance clinic by Naples Cyclery.
Free donuts and cycling safety T-shirts will also be available.
The following is a list of scheduled activities:
7 a.m. – Regular Velo Fort Myers Bridge Ride, 40 miles, unlimited pace
Regular Velo Alternate Ride, 23-24 mph pace
8 a.m. – 30 mile ride to Coconut Road and back, 18-19 mph pace, starts at Fit & Fuel Café
9 a.m. – 10 mile ride in Pelican Bay, 14-15 mph pace, starts at Fit & Fuel Café
10 a.m. – Bike safety presentation by CCSO with question and answer session
10:30 a.m. – Bicycle Maintenance Clinic by Naples Cyclery
